I’m 56 years old with a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease. I have been in complete kidney failure since June 10, 2014. I do home dialysis on the cycler. My older brother died two years ago while on home dialysis and trying to get on a transplant waiting list. I have been active on the kidney transplant waiting list since June 2014. Just last month, a friend of mine was getting tested to see if she was a match for living kidney donation. Sadly, she died from complications of the flu. Another friend was undergoing testing and found out she had polycystic kidney disease. I’ve been a standup comedian for about 15 years. I enjoy making people laugh to get their minds off of their troubles for a bit. I try to do a couple of shows a year. I don’t want someone in my situation to just sit around waiting for a kidney. I get out and travel as much as I’m able to. I do a lot of shows for homeless veterans and charity shows.
