About Driven2SaveLives.

Driven2SaveLives, an Indiana Donor Network program, raises awareness about organ, tissue and eye donation within the racing community and inspires fans throughout the U.S. to register to be an organ, tissue and eye donor.

IndyCar driver Justin Wilson died in a 2015 racing accident. As a registered organ donor, his gifts saved the lives of five people. In 2016, Indiana Donor Network launched Driven2SaveLives in partnership with Justin’s younger racing brother, Stefan, to encourage race fans to sign up to be donors.

Later that year, U.S. Auto Club and IndyCar driver Bryan Clauson, an Indiana native, died in a racing accident. He, too, was a registered donor. His organs saved five lives and tissues healed countless others. He also inspired over 8,000 race fans to sign up through the Driven2SaveLives movement.

Driven2SaveLives educates thousands of race fans each year about organ, tissue and eye donation. The program encourages each fan to learn the facts about donation, talk with their family, friends and loved ones about donation, and then make the choice to sign up to become a donor and someday be a donor hero.

Race Fans: How they can help.

  • They can financially support the Bryan Clauson Legacy Fund through a donation to Indiana Donor Network Foundation.
Contributions to the fund support families of donor heroes through an expansion of the Indiana Donor Network on-site Organ and Tissue Recovery Center and by helping them be with their loved one prior to organ donation.
  • They can join the conversation.
Use the hashtag #Driven2SaveLives on Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram.
  • They can share their story.
Each fan’s personal connection to donation is a powerful story that can be shared with other race fans.

Making a Difference.

Since its inception, Driven2SaveLives has leveraged motorsports to reach those who may not be familiar with organ donation and transplantation.

The initiative has made a difference by reaching race fans throughout the U.S., educating them about organ and tissue donation, answering their questions and encouraging them to register to be a donor.

  • Started an ambassador program to enlist the help of race fans to further the Driven2SaveLives mission to sign race fans up as organ and tissue donors.
  • Since 2018, sponsored the Driven2SaveLives BC39, an annual dirt track race at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway honoring the late Bryan Clauson.
This race brings donation and transplantation to the forefront and has reached over 2.5 million race fans.

  • Partnered with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Doug Boles and Roger Penske to engage fans.
  • Partnered with Clauson Marshall Racing, a prominent team within the sprint car racing community to raise awareness about organ donation. The team is co-owned by Bryan Clauson’s father, Tim Clauson.
  • Sponsored various IndyCar teams, including Clauson Marshall Racing, Andretti Autosport and Dale Coyne Racing, to reach millions of race fans with the donation message.
